Toilets and swiffers and vaccums

Channing is obsessed with the toilet.  He flushes the toilet at least once every 30 minutes.  No, he doesn't lift the lid and watch the water swirl.  He just flushes, laughs, and runs out of the bathroom.  I don't get it at all.  But, he is super entertaining.  Here is what he has been up to:

1) throwing things in the toilet.  Anything that fits will work.  More than once its been my phone.  The other times it has been his favorite music box or a wad of toilet paper.

2) tormenting Lyn.  If she does it, so does he.  We love our dance parties.  Around 5 pm, princess music is likely to break out on pandora.  Lyndie has to make several outfit changes depending on which princess song we are listening to.  Chan man twirls right along with us.  I think he does it to feel dizzy and fall over.  Its hilarious never the less.

3) Swiffering or dry mopping is the new craze.  I shorten our two swiffers for Lyn and Chan and watch em go!  Today I learned that the swiffer does absorb lots of water when dunked repeatedly in the dogs water bowl.  The only problem is that the water then goes all over the bathroom floor when you drag the swiffer around the room.  I usually empty the dogs water bowl during the day to prevent such occurrences. Today, he came to me with the bowl over his head like a hat.  Then I found that I forgot to empty the bowl today.  The bathroom was flooded again.

4) The Dyson vacuum is his new favorite pull and push toy.  He was enamored by this great (and loud) machine while Daddy was cleaning the rugs.  We gave him Lyn's old Elmo vacuum.  He insists on the full size Dyson and wants nothing of sesame street impostors.  He loves to open the broom closet door, pull out the vacuum, drag it around the house by the cord, and scream when it gets stuck.  So, for my birthday I bought him a mini size D
yson that really sucks up things!  Its for kids.  Now maybe he will leave mine alone!

Poison control

This blog is for me.  I want to remember how they acted, what they did, how they behaved.  Today and for the past few days, they have not been very well behaved.

I should have poison control on speed dial.  Lyn decided to sleep with her St Patty's day glow stick.  She, however, chose not to sleep and instead busted said glow stick in her bed.  So, instead of a napping girl in my baby monitor screen, I saw her rubbing her face with a wad of baby wipes and screaming.  Not just any scream, but the blood curdling one...the one where you don't walk, you run.  Though she was convinced she just hit her head, I noticed her outfit was glowing :)  Poor little girl rubbed glow stick all over her neck and eyes.  Think fast: strip child, flush eyes with contact solution (and note I have no saline for future times like these), and place in tub.  Don't worry, glow sticks are non-toxic and fine in the eyes other than some pain.  I hope she learned her lesson as that day wasn't one of our best.  Oh, and I forgot to mention.  The screaming woke Chan man.  Also, while on the phone with poison control, she was playing with my razor and shaved her arm and leg.  Not a good day for us.  But, we all made it to sleep eventually last night.  This morning as I was leaving for work in the dark, I noticed my trash can, where the glow stick remains, is still glowing.

Ariel decorating the tree

Yup, its still halloween here.  Ariel will not allow us to remove, much less throw away this costume.  Ariel doesn't know it yet, but Santa is bringing her a new one without rips and stains across the front.  Yesterday a mermaid decorated my tree for me.

Before and After birthday boy

Channing showed no interest in his birthday cake when we actually celebrated his birthday.  So, I froze his cake topper and saved it for a day I knew he would be hungry.  He tends to be a bit more bashful and would rather NOT have 20 people watching him eat his cake.  Yesterday I thawed it and placed it in front of him.  He stared at the cake for a long time.  I put some icing in his mouth, nothing.  Finally, Daddy tore into the side of the cake to reveal red interior (red velvet).  Once the icing was removed on one side, he hollowed out he cake, avoiding the icing as much as possible.  Like his Momma, not a fan of icing!

Her tree

Lyndie decorated her tree this year.  I didn't help at all.

Look closely

Lyndie's first signature.  From what I remember, L and Y are together.  N is lacking all its pieces.  D is up top.  I and E are at the end.  This is a gift card we gave to our babysitter for her birthday.

First Birthday!

Daddy beauty shop

They both thought I was gone.  I didn't leave though.  I grabbed the camera!

Soccer girl

Lyndie finished her first season of soccer with our local rec league.  She played with 3-5 year old boy and girls.  We all met to celebrate the season (or in Lyndie's case the END of the season) at a local burger joint to receive trophies.  Lyndie didn't really understand the trophy concept and would have just left her's there.  We did bring it home with us.  Good job, 6!

Happy Halloween!

Halloween was so much fun this year, mainly because every other year Lyndie has been sick.  Channing fell asleep in the double jogging stroller a few houses in to our night.  We walked with the Chessers (who have Lyndie's twin Claire).  We walked at least a mile, probably more like two.  Later, we were visited by our best friends, the Linns.  The shark and Buzz LightYear are their kiddos.  Lyndie made out with a ton of candy.  We found out the next day (today) she had an ear infection.  She never said a word till midday today.  Hello antibiotics.  So much for a healthy halloween.  Maybe next year.  Poor kiddo!
