Lyndie is bright. We have known this for a few years (not 3.5 though). She was late to talk which had Daddy and me worried. Now, she is just non-stop talking and doing. Last week, her gymnastics teacher pulled me aside. She said, "this kid has what it takes. We want to move Lyndie to a squad to help her get ready to compete." She loves gymnastics, but we realize she could very well be 5'7" or so like me. I explained the height issue to her coach. She seemed unphased. Ha! She has not seem Daddy's side of the family. (My side isn't quite as tall). Lyndie is sad to be leaving her friends who make up her current gymnastics class. I promised her we will make every effort to have them to our house during the summer as often as they want to visit. We shall see! I actually never get a chance to watch Lyndie in the gym as Channing is usually running, screaming, or attempting to leave.
She is into NOT napping right now. I need this time to myself as its often the only time I have to shower, work out, do laundry, and other things. I love little hands helping though. The more we train these little monkeys now, the easier my life gets later. So, I am trying to be patient. At this current moment in time, her baby monitor screen shows the cutest little bottom in the air as she practices beautiful forward rolls across her bed. She is also learning that I never get upset at her when she leaves her room during nap time to potty. Do you know how many times that child can try to potty?
Lies are also present now. For example, we went on a walk together the other day. She picked up rocks for everyone. I told her not to bring them home. In our drive way, I told her to drop them and showed her a spot in the driveway that needed lots of rocks. Then, I gave her space to do the right thing. As I walked to the front door, asked her what was in her hands. "Nothing." I said, "are you lying to me?" Lyndie answered that she was not lying, hands full of rocks. Lil stinker! Stories like these happen daily now.
Lyndie has also learned to play both parents against each other. If I say no to more fruit snacks, she asks Daddy for more fruit snacks. Careful with this little one. I know lying at a young and early age is a strong indicator of intelligence. This girl must be very smart!!!
She recently commanded Jamee to get her a drink from the fridge as she lounged in her pink chair watching TV. Jamee responded, "your parents don't pay me enough to wait on you. Come get your drink." Lyndie told her that was too bad mommy and daddy didn't pay Jamee to wait on her. Strong willed. Crazy girl!
She is also kind hearted. She takes care of little brother. She gets him his lovee baby and helps him up when he falls. She feeds him cookies when he whines. She loves to bake (me too). She LIVES to bake! She can name off exactly what she wants to make (usually muffins). I cannot eat like that anymore! But she can! Skinny minny!
