More pics!

Its my party, I'm one!

Lyndie turned one. She chose to take her first two steps the day before. She saved her first good walk for her party guests. She surprised all by walking across the room in the middle of a crowd of friends and loved ones.

This is a video of Lyndie and daddy playing chase before bed time. This game makes it absolutely impossible to get her to sleep. But, its great fun!

Deprived of water or just plain silly?

Here Lyndie has figured out its fun to suck on her wash cloth. Yes we do give her water...she just likes it this way.

Look at my bath tub!

For those of my friends whose babies are not on the move, here is what you have to look forward to. Today was my day off. We both slept in late but soon Lyndie was up and at 'em. She loves to throw things into the tub while I enjoy a relaxing (yeah right) bath. Today, here is a list of things that ended up in my tub: empty glade spray can from trash, empty body wash from trash, light up ducky, aveeno baby wash, conditioner.

Daddy's Girl

If you know Lyndie's daddy, you know his love of strawberries. They are in season right now. We have already polished off 3 quarts and are working on another two tonight. Lyndie got the first three of tonight's batch. She is also working on beef and avocado (yes all together). As she tired, she started to wipe her eyes and head with her hands. To the bath we go!

What is in your mouth?

Never did I ever imagine how many times I would be saying those words in a day. If its not dog hair, its leaves, or rocks. We really don't have a lot of small objects on our floor. Lyndie has found magical things under the welcome mats and behind doors where tumble weeds form. Today she decided to chew up a book. Then, she cried when said book was replaced with a less soggy one. Here are some pics from Lyndie exploring behind the bathroom door. She has also decided that she only wants to nap once a day. She has done this before and usually gives in. Today for the first time ever, I gave up and loaded her in the car to take her shopping instead of fighting for a nap. She fell asleep on the way home. This allowed plenty of time for my garden to be planted and irrigation placed. Yeah!

Happy easter

Today we spent Easter with Daddy's side of the family. Here are some cute pics.

Saturday, April 3, 2010

Yes I am aware she is the cutest baby on the block. But, in case there were any doubts, here are a few pics I took today while Daddy was away. I didn't figure he would appreciate me placing her in the Easter basket. He found us and helped get more smiles from Lyndie!

Quick update

Limited time today...lots of work. But, new task mastered. Today I learned to remove a poopy diaper, clean, and replace with a clean diaper all while child is attempting to catch a stuffed manatee whilst on her stomach! She is impossible to keep still and to keep on her back to change a diaper.

Such is life!

C went to great lengths to keep the dogs on one blanket and Lyndie on another. Anyone who knows our dogs knows that the blue blanket is theirs. Lyndie has a cute monogrammed white fleece baby blanket. Well, Chaco and Lyndie had other plans. Note the swap when no one was looking.

Lyndie and I spent most of this morning at the garden center buying plants for our new house. I got a little brave and decided to buy strawberries to grow for Lyndie this summer. I am planning on quite the harvest like Cappy with his orange grove (ha ha). Lyndie slept through me planting everything. Surely she will wake up soon as I am ready for a walk in this nice weather!

The Doctor's office

Today Lyndie went to the Pediatricians office for two vaccines. While everything is growing correctly, she continues to be small but mighty. She is on target with all of her skills other than her size. She is quite the social butterfly. She now waves at anything that might wave back, including random men at Lowes. She attempted to feed herself a cracker yesterday at church. I left her in the nursery last night. When I came to pick her up, the worker had found the crackers and told me that Lyndie loves them...this I already knew. We call them "baby crack" because they are quite addicting. This morning, I realized the container was half gone. That poor unsuspecting nursery worker fed Lyndie A LOT of baby crack. Oh well, whatever keeps her happy. At the present moment, she is down for a nap; then its cereal time! We strongly suspect Lyndie has a dairy allergy due to two separate incidences of profuse vomiting when fed dairy. So, no feeding Lyndie off our plates or offering her anything I have not approved. The doctor wants her immune system to relax. He hopes she'll outgrow it. I do too.
